Tony Koe suggested I go check out Singapore’s tallest public housing project to date, the Pinnacle@Duxton so I dropped by this morning to snap a quick VR of the building. The winds up on the 50th storey are quite strong! Visit the link to check out the VRs.
Watch out for clickable arrows within the VR:

Look for the arrow that takes you up to the 50th Storey

Someone emailed me a simple question, ‘What “toys” you got?’.
I think this photo pretty much sums up the reply

I’ve seen and played around enough with the new Windows 7 to think that it is a good upgrade. Yes, I’m a PC user. I gave up on Mac because I realized there were more software and hardware options available on the PC. Not to mention a tons of games out there.
I got a new hard disk and installed Windows 7 (64bit Version) today. Installation was rather quick. I didn’t watch the process complete so I would have to say it takes the same amount of time you would take to leave the office, grab a very quick lunch and hurry back. I just started all the initial installation steps and left it to auto-pilot.
One of the first things I noticed was that boot time improved dramatically. Also, everything else of mine worked perfectly, even the older stuff:
- Canon Pixma 9000 printer (USB)
- LG External Blu-Ray Drive (USB)
- Spyder Elite (USB)
- Western Digital 2TB drive (eSATA)
- Logitech MX Revolution (USB)
- iTunes (for my iPhone)
- Networked Printers (LAN)
- etc… etc… etc…
64bit drivers are all easily available and already downloaded off the various websites the day before. Perhaps it was psychological, but everyday software like Microsoft Office somehow seemed a whole lot snappier. I haven’t tried out my Adobe CS4 Master Collection Suite yet as I had to de-activate and uninstall that from my previous harddisk first.
My next step is to increase my RAM from the current 4 Gb to (hopefully) 16 Gb as the new 64bit OS supports way more RAM than before.

I’ve been away on holiday in Japan and soon I’ll be flying to the Middle East to create some VRs. It’s also been pretty busy at work so there will be a pause in updates for now.

A couple of students from National Junior College were doing a school project on Kampong Buangkok and we decided to work together. We organized a trip down to the village and collected new materials to update this section. Previously all that was featured were only a few VRs and no write up. I gave them the entire Kampong Buangkok section to work on and they have revamped it with new locations and a video they produced. There is even a tour inside one of the houses, courtesy of the residents.
Check out the new and updated Kampong Buangkok feature here:

SingaporeVR’s partner and friend, http://www.virtualhomes.sg/ has turned one. Congratulations Virtual Homes ! ! ! It has been a very fruitful year and the database continues to grow. To date, we have photographed and produced over 3000++ VRs of properties around the country, a feat that was not achieved by employing expensive gadgets but through the hard work and dedication of a team of friends.
