Sentosa – Underwater World

While the rest of Underwater World has added or refreshed exhibits, this classic tunnel has remained pretty much unchanged over the past 20 years. I can’t help but feel nostalgic when I took the ride through this tunnel, remembering how much in awe I was when I first stepped inside back in 1992.

DBS Marina Regatta 2012

The DBS Marina Regatta 2012 is Singapore’s inaugural international dragon boat competition held on the Marina Reservoir. The Indonesian team ruled the day by winning the 500m Premier Open, Women’s and Mixed races, while the Singapore team came in second place for every event. Me on the other hand, took a leisurely trip around the bay with the tune of “dayung sampan” in my head and not even breaking a sweat.

Sentosa – Tiger Sky Tower

At 131 metres above sea level, the air-conditioned cabin of the Tiger Sky Tower allows you to catch a 360 degree panoramic view of Sentosa, rain or shine. This shot was done during a passing shower as I’m kept comfortable and dry inside.

Sentosa – Fort Siloso

Fort Siloso holds a large collection memorabilia, original guns and cannons of World War II. It is opened 10am – 6pm daily with the last entry at 5.30pm. That’s good as I’m pretty sure the old WWII tunnels will feel a little creepy at nightfall. It can get a quite hot up there in the humid Singapore weather so be prepared to work up a sweat wandering around the place.

Lately, I have encountered an instance where an overseas photographer falsely claimed to be my business partner. I only discovered it after I was contacted by his client because of problems with their virtual tour project. Similar incidents have occasionally been reported to me over the past 3 years from China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam. If you are reading this and encounter the following listed below, please contact me directly.

1. Claim to have worked for me producing VRs. (I’ve only had 3 photographers working for me and they are very close friends who are still in Singapore)

2. Claim to be a partner/franchise/branch/sister company. (Companies I own are Plus 720 Pte Ltd and Plus Life Pte Ltd and they are both located in Singapore)

I am flattered yet disappointed when such things happen. It is an affirmation to me that I would be emulated, yet it is a terrible business loss to me and my would-be client who has received less than professional work.

Lomography – Part 2 – Botanic Gardens

My next goal was to get a shot in the shade and the perfect place to attempt this was at the greenhouse at the Botanic Gardens. For this shot, take note that I did not use the -3 ND filter as I did in the previous post. Again, I’m using the Spinner 360° with the Spinner 360° Motorizer.

This is the first in a series of lomographic VRs that I plan to do over the next year. It’s a fun gadget that takes some getting used to. I’ll be sharing the settings and lighting conditions for each of the lomographic VRs I create.
