Keppel Island used to be called Pulat Hantu, which means Ghost Island. It's neighbour Sentosa was originally called Pulau Blakang Mati, which means Island of Death from behind.

Such inauspicious names were changed and today, Keppel Island is a premier waterfront precinct and Sentosa is a multi-million dollar Integrated Resort.
