The traditional tea ceremony is an important ritual that is very dear to the hearts of Chinese parents and the elders of the family.

Young couples traditionally kneel before their parents and elders and offer tea in honour and respect to them. The parents and elders reciprocate this gesture by giving the couple gifts or "ang pows".
