Parade Fireworks

The parade was held at Marina Bay for the first time in 2007 with a special stage built over the water. The 2008 parade is also held on this same stage.

Singapore celebrated its first National Day in 1966, one year after Singapore's independence from Malaysia on 9 August 1965. Traditionally, the parade is held at the Padang or at the National Stadium.

The National Day Parade is the biggest national event in Singapore with the fireworks display marking the climax of the parade.
